General Engineering, Machining & Fabrication

FABRICATION DEPARTMENT

WELDING All grades of carbon steel, stainless and aluminium up to 50mm thick. Mig, Tig and MMA, to a maximum capacity of 500 amps. 12 sets available. Operators coded to BS EN 288 & BS EN ISO 15614.

WELDING BENCHES Rigid, cast-iron, tee-slotted welding tables available to a maximum size of 4 metres x 2.5 metres. 5 tables available.

MANIPULATORS Rotary manipulators to a maximum capacity of 5 tonnes for chuck mounted and tubular components. 2 machines available.

STRAIGHTENING PRESS Straightening and forming presses available to a maximum capacity of 200 tonnes.

FITTING DEPARTMENT

A dedicated, cleanliness-controlled area is set aside for fitting and assembly, to a maximum height of 5.8 metres under the crane. 5 tonne lifting capacity.

POLISHING DEPARTMENT

Hand & machine polishing. Stainless-steel specialists. 800mm wide GRINDMASTER.

ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS
DEPARTMENT

Assembly, wiring, control panels, cabling, looms and harnesses.

LIFTING

All shops are traversed by 5 tonne gantry cranes. A full range of lifting tackle is available, to suit a wide range of applications.

INSPECTION DEPARTMENT

MEASUREMENT A full range of digital verniers, micrometers and gauges is available for measuring up to a maximum of 3000 mm.

SURFACE MEASUREMENT Surface measuring equipment is available to measure the Centre Line Average (CLA) of flat surfaces and bores.

WELDS A range of ultrasonic and magnetic particle equipment is available.

MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT Granite and cast-iron inspection tables with digital measuring machines.

TESTING

A range of hydraulic test equipment is available for pressures up to a maximum of 65 bar.

Electrical test equipment includes digital multi-meter, analogue multi-meter, clamp meter, dual-beam oscilloscope and insulation tester.

Electro-mechanical repair facilities.

Helium leak testing carried out.

STORES

Goods Inwards and Stores Facility for stock items, finished parts and tooling.

Quarantine stores area.

External yard area – 420 square metres.

Roller shutter doors to main workshop areas – 4.4 metres high x 4.8 metres wide.
