Established in 1926 The Colston Manufacturing (Engineering) Co Ltd is a fully integrated engineering subcontractor offering a wide range of services with a reputation for high quality workmanship, customer service and commercial acumen.

Colston is privately owned and has been a contractor to the Ministry of Defence (both Navy and Army departments) for over 40 years and has progressively developed a broad industrial customer base which includes Reviss, Devonport Management, Vosper Thornycroft, British Nuclear Fuels, Rolls-Royce Nuclear, Strachan & Henshaw (Nuclear & Defence), Alstom (formerly G.E.C. Alsthom E.S.L.), High Mast Lighting, Metronet Rail, Tubelines, Westinghouse Brake & Signal and the Highways Agency/Department of Transport.

Colston operates from modern, well equipped 20,000 sq. ft. premises. Our general project management skills, technical and production expertise enable us to successfully undertake a wide range of contracts and projects, from single item supply to project management and production of complicated mechanical, electrical and plastic assemblies or entire products.

With a highly skilled and motivated workforce and comprehensive precision machining, fabrication, electrical assembly, project management, product development and product manufacturing skills and expertise we believe we are demonstrably well qualified to assist with any requirements that you may have.

We can offer capacity in boring, turning, milling, drilling, fitting, welding and sheet metal fabrication in steel, stainless steel, aluminium, bronze, plastics, etc. We offer the following additional services: plating; painting; polishing; grinding; and electrical and electronic assembly and testing.

All of these service are provided on one site and we can be very flexible in responding to your delivery needs. We utilize shift working as required to further increase our capacity and responsiveness, guaranteeing delivery on time and to customers' requirements. Site Work can be arranged if required.
